  • Kirk Centre is a wonderful place and Mouse and Mabel truly add to that. It's impossible to have a bad day when you see them. They are the best welcoming committee anyone could ask for. - Katie Hodnefield - Volunteer

  • “Mabel and Mouse are wonderful colleagues. My therapy clients love their company and comfort and the cats are happy to provide purrs and cuddles when needed.” - Tracy McGimpsey - Sage Counselling Services
  • "There is something priceless about having a furry friend be so happy to greet you when you come in the door. Mouse and Mabel make everyone feel this way. Mouse in particular is so pleased to say hello to me and my clients, and it puts a smile on everyone's face, which is something I treasure. I'm grateful to share this space with them, and to Kirk Centre for taking such good care of them." - Whitney Ireland - Talk Box Therapy

Mable and Mouse

Our Working Cats are an integral part of our staff here at Kirk Centre.

Mable was found in a box with three kittens and brought to the SPCA. In October 2017, she and her son, Mouse, came to Kirk Centre to work as pest control, but they became so much more. Little did we know how much they would work their way into everyone's hearts.

Having cats as pest control allows us to avoid using any harsh chemicals or poisons. This makes Kirk Centre safer for both the environment and the human community.
